Hawai‘i Department of Human Services is currently looking for one missing foster child on Kaua‘i. Billie Kay Vinhaca, 14, is believed to have voluntarily left her foster home in Lihu‘e on Nov. 22 of this year, and has not been seen since.
Anyone with information is asked to call police, DHS public information officer Derick Dahilig said in a release.
DHS and the Hawaii Foster Youth Coalition is talking to foster children who have left and then returned to their homes to discover the issues that led to their departure in the first place.
Any foster youths who are currently on the run or are thinking about leaving their foster care are urged to call the coalition at (808) 255-8365.
