The A&B people have been busy — Trinette Kaui was up for the protocol ceremony at the Grand Hyatt Kaua‘i Resort and Spa before getting to the luncheon where they presented $10,000 to Kaua‘i Community College. Dewayne Kong of Matson Navigation was there, too, and made it to the Waimea HS homecoming game Friday night (mahalo for keeping an eye on the equipment while the homecoming royalty paraded by). Tim Hoxie of Kaua‘i Commercial was also at the lunch and came to check out the wheels at the ASUH-KCC “Show Your Wheels” event Saturday as well.
Congratulations to Healani Akau and her committee for doing such a great job with the event — even got to see Rosie Bukoski. Clyde Kaluahine had his Big Toe on display and also his shave ice machine to help cool people down … only two more KIF football games to enjoy his shave ice.
Coach Dan Agan was chaperoning the Waimea HS program sales people (JV soccer?) Friday night, and Kaua‘i coach Mike Tresler was excited about the golf tournament for the Kaua‘i Football Club.
Speaking of golf tournament, hats off to Marissa Sanblom and the Grove Farm ‘ohana on its sold-out tournament honoring Allan Smith and a separate celebration for Mike Furukawa! Marissa said they were going to cut off at 150 golfers, but squeezed in 174 players before finally having to cut off registration.
Since it was the last KIF game for Kapa‘a this year, Annette Hashimoto had two helpers for all the blow-up rings worn around waistes.
