The Hawaii Hotel and Lodging Association’s Kauai Chapter presents a series of panel discussions today examining Hawaiian cultural issues at the Grand Hyatt, featuring several topics key to cultural awareness.
Sense of Place, My Culture, My Life, Hawaiian Values at the Workplace, Owning a Business in Hawai‘i, Sovereignty — Past, Present & Future and My Life as a Kumu will be discussed by numerous experts and practitioners in Hawaiian cultural issues, education, entertainment, tourism and human resources.
Guest speakers from Kaua‘i, O‘ahu, Maui and the Big Island will also be there. The event is part of the three-day Hawaiiana Festival and includes continental breakfast and lunch. Tickets are $45.
Things get underway at 8:30 a.m. and run until 4:30 p.m. Registration starts at 7:30 a.m.
