Incumbent County Councilwoman JoAnn Yukimura announced she will follow the Outdoor Circle’s guidelines in posting yard signs as part of her election campaign. The guidelines include not posting on public property, size limitations and the prompt removal of signs after the general election.
Yukimura said signs are a cheap way to reach many, and they should continue to be a part of the campaign process — to a point.
“I want to do my part to mitigate the clutter and keep Kaua‘i beautiful,” she said.
Yukimura also said she will strive to minimize the number of signs she uses.
She also asked that the public contact 245-2841 if any of her signs are improperly posted.
The Outdoor Circle is perhaps best known for successfully lobbying to ban billboards in the State of Hawai‘i.
