The state and federal political forum originally scheduled to occur on Wednesday, hosted by The Garden Island, has been cancelled and the Kauai County Council candidates’ forum has been rescheduled to Oct. 19 at the Veteran’s Center in Lihu‘e.
All candidates for the County Council election should be receiving their invitations by the end of this week. The forum is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. and will have a “Town Hall” format to accommodate the large number of candidates — 14 — in the race for the seven open seats.
Doors will open at 6 p.m. with pupus and refreshments provided for all. It is hoped that Ho‘ike will televise the event if scheduling conflicts can be resolved.
