Gage Gusman broke open a scoreless halftime stalemate to spark the 14-0 Kaua‘i JV football win over Waimea Friday.

Gusman peeled off an 85-yard run to the Waimea 1-yard line and capped the feat on a charge to paydirt in the third quarter.

Donovan Refamonte added his own one-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.

Keala Lovell was two-for-two in point-after kicks.

Kaua‘i (1-0) meets Kapa‘a (1-0), which picked up its first win last week over Waimea (0-2). Kickoff is 5 p.m.
