The coaches all got to meet at the steroids clinic for coaches Wednesday night … Kunihiko and Kenji Azuma came after their farewell lu‘au hosted by the Lihu‘e Pop Warner Association … hats off to Gracie Grace and her association for doing such a great job hosting the Osaka Bengals!
Edmund Acoba was at Isenberg for all the practices and if that nasty cold bug didn’t take out Mel Rapozo, he would’ve been there as well. But it’s amazing how Mel can utilize all the technology to still be in the midst of things … get well soon, Mel!
Roy Nishida was pleased with the reception of both students and coaches for the clinics and Tom (ask him about the days he played for groups like the Beach Boys, the Doors and the Rolling Stones), Scott and Gary Shimabukuro even made it out to Salt Pond for the drums and speeches for the groundbreaking of the treatment center there.
Roy and Bev Pang had a late night with the coaches’ clinic and still were at Salt Pond early for the groundbreaking.
Football season is in full swing since we have the Anahola Joel Pahukula team doing live broadcasts of the Kaua‘i gridiron games and Manny Henriques said the HHSAA Web site (SportsHigh.com) even posts stats of Kaua‘i games now. Manny was traveling with Kapa‘a to the Big Island, but will be on the sidelines tonight when Kapa‘a hosts Kamehameha, Big Island. Good luck to Waimea against Hilo!
