Hats off to Charles Kawakami and all the Big Save ‘ohana for hosting their annual Richard Kawakami golf tournament Friday.
If anything, it’s always nice to run into people like Diane Fukeda (she won a nice Bacardi golf bag) of Fuji Film who got to play with George Otsuka … try taking that through as hand-carry.
Mike Murakoshi of First Hawaiian Bank was on hand with Glenn Hong of Young Brothers, and it’s not golf unless Sharron Weber is there. Victor Watabu (no sight of Kellen or Casey) got to play in this tournament and hats off to Jonathan Ota for the Low Gross honors.
Gail Oride had to rush off to do bon dance duty and several of the golfers also took in the bon dance.
But, that list goes on forever … in the meantime, mahalo to Paul Ito of Puakea Golf Course for the ride to No. 6 where Mia Foley and Adrian Nicholas were monitoring the Hole-in-one for $10,000 to benefit the Kaua‘i Food Bank.
Paul said Kelvin Moniz was on hand early Friday, but had to leave to tend to errands.
Larry Rivera had to do the Friday Night on the Mall program but still had time to get in some of the food at the Lihu‘e Hongwanji bon dance … this is Clesson Lee’s last one before he goes to college and he said they were super busy (even ran out of plate lunch containers).
Wanda Shibata, who was at the bon dance with husband Myles and sons, got to see the playground equipment that was made possible through the Young Brothers Community Advisory Board grant.
