The grounds of the All Saints Church in Kapa‘a will be filled with tents of games, crafts, food and entertainment this weekend as Reverend Mary Koppel and the congregation present their annual ho‘olaulea.
“There’ll be tons of local food there,” said Senior Warden Mary Smith. “There’ll be live music pretty much all day and then at the end there’ll be this open-mic session.”
The ho‘olaulea event is in coordination with the church’s 81st anniversary in the community.
The celebration started earlier this week with a Hawaiian service on Wednesday.
“We started this last year and just decided we were going to do it again,” Warden said. “It helps us raise money and also allows us to be involved with the community.”
The festival starts tomorrow at 9 a.m. and goes on until 6 p.m. Live entertainment starts at 10 a.m.
For more information about the event, contact the church at 821-2878.
