The Kauai Dance Theatre begins its 21st year as classes resume in Kalaheo next week. Classes in Lihu‘e will start the following week.
Director Janie Crane stated in a press release that the theatre’s objective is to provide “classical training in the art of dance so that the student can gain experience, enjoyment and appreciation for dance through progressive improvement and advancement in his or her chosen art.”
KDT’s program offers various levels of ballet, tap, jazz and theater dance and creative movement for students 4 years old and older. Morning exercise sessions for adults, “Stretch and Tone” and “BalleTone” are ongoing and new attendees are welcome at any time. Most classes are held at the Kalaheo studio, but ballet is also offered at the Lihu‘e Parish Hall.
