Bill Troutman took time out of his Saturday to note that a lot of DOE principals including Fred Rose and representatives were at the last disaster center training.
Unfortunately, Kathy Thompson (how many of you remember Kathy Muneno of Channel 4 news?) had the Camper trucking out to Hanalei for the arrival of the Hokule‘a. It was definitely a good opportunity to catch up on the latest with Catherine Ham Young. Freddie Gorton had the wok-cleaning duty and Jim Blears was pulling water duty while Raylene Hermosura was just plain fast doing everything from washing rice to cutting up all the stuff for the hekka. Good job, ground crew!
Hats off to Lawai Beach Resort’s Zenaida Valencia for hosting a great mini golf tourney … Karin Bukoski is getting their crew ready for the parade this Saturday and another Bukoski, Melissa, was helping tally scores. Lopaka Bukoski (the Bukoskis are all over the place) had the honor of chaperoning Landon who topped the 0-5 group. And, if you go to the shindig Saturday, Rosie (yep, another Bukoski) should be there … or, will she be at the Plantation Days Rodeo Sunday?
And if you need to run into people, Tip Top Cafe for Sunday breakfast fits the bill … Harvey Kinoshita was there getting the East Kaua‘i Lions ready to be a part of the Dec. 1 Lights on Rice parade, Leonard and Janice Ringor come early so no seating problems, and Russell Shimazu had his ‘ohana enjoying a nice Sunday breakfast as well. It’s the only show in town on Sundays.
OK, it’s getting late … time to get ready for the governor’s visit this weekend (she’ll be at the parade, too).
