PRINCEVILLE — GolfWeek, Celebrated Living and Conde Nast Traveler magazines recognized Princeville’s golf courses as some of the best in the United States, a Princeville Resort press release states.
The current issue of GolfWeek magazine ranked the Prince Course No. 14 in the publication’s list of “America’s Best Resort Golf Courses.” In previous 2006 issues of GolfWeek, the course has also been named No. 2 in “Hawai‘i’s Best 15 Public Access Courses” and one of “America’s Top 100 Modern Courses,” the release states.
The June issue of Conde Nast Traveler named Princeville in its annual reader’s survey of “Top 100 Golf Resorts,” and the summer 2006 edition of Celebrated Living — the in-flight publication for American Airlines’ first and business class passengers — recognized the Prince Course in its Reader’s Choice Platinum List of “Top 20 U.S. Golf Courses.”
The Prince was the only course on the island of Kaua‘i to place on the list, the release states.
The Robert Trent Jones Jr.-designed courses have consistently been recognized as among the best in the state. The 18-hole Prince Course was ranked by Golf Digest as Hawai‘i’s No. 1 golf course and is the only course in the state to be recognized on the magazine’s 2005-2006 list of America’s “Top 100 Greatest Courses.” The 27-hole Makai Course has been ranked by Golf Digest as one of Hawai‘i’s top 15 courses.
