Congratulations to KPD Officer Mark Ozaki, his K-PAL ‘ohana and all the GREAT officers who took part in the great MJ presentation Wednesday! Over 300 people (a lot of parents and their children) attended the event that was also a part of the KPD GREAT program.
Also mahalo to Tom Clements and Johnny Michael for being such great hosts at the RimPac exercises earlier in the week. And, for the locals, the Housing Gate is now the Main Gate … Tom said they’re working on new signage to that effect.
The county’s Recreation Agency did a great job with their Fun Day that wrapped up this year’s Summer Enrichment program … and Russell Wellington didn’t have his guitar.
Mahalo to Robin Sanchez of the American Legion for calling about the Hip Hop Dance camp that was going on at the veterans center.
Congratulations to Sherri Sanchez-Holcomb for doing such a great job in hosting the event attended by about 50 youngsters including ZZ/Rotary Club of West Kaua‘i Youth basketball players like Siarra Perreira and Marissa Hesapene. Of course, Colby Jardin was the center of attention, being the only boy there. Kudos to all those trophy and award winners as well.
One of the good things about going to the ZZ/Rotary Club of West Kaua‘i 19 Under games is running into the former basketball parents like Naomi Sugihara who still looks the same as when Lindsey used to play in the 16 Under levels … and, one day Tristan Rosare’s mom will resurrect the Hanama‘ulu Coyotes.
OK, time to go visit Eddie Sarita and the Hanama‘ulu celebration!
