Officials with the Kaua‘i Police Department are advising westbound motorists attempting to make a left turn into Wilcox Hospital at the intersection of Eha Street and Kuhi‘o Highway to remain behind the stop line.
Traffic tie-ups are occurring when drivers go beyond the state Department of Transportation sensor located at the stop line, which automatically adjusts the traffic light to accommodate drivers turning left.
During the nurses’ strike, drivers should allow more time for traveling in the area around the hospital.
Kaua‘i police are standing by at Wilcox Hospital to ensure the safety of the striking nurses, hospital staff and the general public.
