Kaua‘i Planning and Action Alliance is offering a one-day workshop for substance abuse counselors, mental health professionals, social workers and those who would like to become certified substance abuse counselors.
“Dual Disorders and Relapse Prevention” will be led by Michael J. Taleff, Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Courtyard Marriott, Waipouli Beach, in Kapa‘a.

The workshop will meet requirements for 6.5 hours of continuing education credits for substance abuse counselors and other mental health professionals. The cost is $30 and includes continental breakfast, lunch, and training materials. Pre-registration is required by today and space is limited.
“This training is designed to help build skills among the island’s substance abuse counselors and others combating the epidemic of ‘ice’ and other illegal drugs,” said Diane Zachary, president and CEO of the Kaua‘ i Planning and Action Alliance, in a press release.
