The 2006 KIF champion now heads to the Westfield Junior PGA Championship in Westfield Center, Ohio, August 10 to 13.

Lihu‘e’s T.J. Kua (41-37-78) is one shot back of leader Sean Maekawa (37-40-77) after yesterday’s first round of the United States Golf Association Junior qualifier at the Turtle Bay Resort’s Palmer Course on O‘ahu.
The qualifier is a 36-hole event with the top two finishers advancing to the championship at Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club in California, from July 16 to 22.
According to tournament official Stephen Perry, the conditions were sunny but windy throughout the first day. Second round action continues today at 7 a.m.
