It’s no surprise that Kapa‘a freshman Lyndsey Tom leads the way of 2005-06 KIF all-stars for tennis.
Tom’s fourth-place finish at states was the highest-ever for a Kapa‘a tennis player, making her the obvious choice for the KIF girls all-star singles spot.
Also making the elite list were Kapa‘a’s Crystine Ito, Waimea’s Sonya Tacub and Kula’s Ariel Carlson.
Kula senior Kyle Barrett filled out the top spot for boys singles, followed by Island School’s Justin Vea, Waimea’s Jake Anderson and Kapa‘a’s Taylor Alfiler.
Kula’s Alex and Dylan Latif earned all-star accolades in boys doubles, along with Kaua‘i’s team of Reyn Balocan and Sterling Inouye, Waimea’s Darrel Nonaka and Froilan Tyler and Kapa‘a’s Matt Hanley and Kila Youn.
In girls doubles, Kaua‘i’s Lezlie Tao and Megan Vento led the way. Other top teams included Kapa‘a’s Kelli Okamoto and Mailika Napoleon, Waimea’s Tiffany Lum and Jenny Rumbaoa and Kaua‘i’s Jacey Ageno and Katie Anderson.
The Red Raider girls and the Waimea boys won the KIF titles this season.
KIF tennis all-stars were selected based upon performances at the KIF championship matches.
