As National Foster Care Month winds down, Hale ‘Opio Kaua‘i would like to thank the professional foster parents on Kaua‘i who have dedicated their lives to helping the foster youth on the island.
“This is a time to recognize and thank the many wonderful professional parents who open their hearts and homes to help these children feel loved and safe while they make their journey back to their birth families, or find permanent homes as needed,” states Cynthia Weiss, a professional parent recruiter for Hale ‘Opio Kaua‘i, in a press release.
The Therapeutic Foster Home Program at Hale ‘Opio Kaua‘i is designed to provide the youth with on-going family based treatment and daily opportunities for success, the release states.
“Our foster parents are so humble they do not want to receive public recognition for what they do,” Weiss states. “Being a professional foster parent is a difficult but rewarding experience for them. I think they deserve to be called heroes.”
Hale ‘Opio Kaua‘i’s Professional Parent Program provides safe homes and skilled professional parents for children unable to stay in their homes and require treatment services, the release states. Social workers are available at all times to support the professional parents.
Those interested in a work-at-home opportunity should contact Weiss at 245-2873. There is a monthly, non-taxable stipend of $1,529 for homes where foster children are placed.
