Kapa‘a Public Library will host two sessions of “Growing Older, Aging Akamai at your library,” a free informational program about health care for seniors, on May 16, at 1 p.m., and again at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium, according to a press release.
Conducting this program will be Donna Pickard, Community Outreach Coordinator for the Regency at Puakea Retirement and Assisted Living Community. Pickard is scheduled to discuss the variety of care options available in Hawai‘i, including: home/family care, foster and care home placement, adult day care, skilled nursing, plus hospice and retirement/ assisted living facilities.
In addition, Michael Messmore of Gammie Home Care, is scheduled to present information on what health insurance will cover for home medical equipment.
Sponsored by Kayau Computer Solutions and the Regency at Puakea Retirement and Assisted Living Community, this one-hour program is recommended for seniors, caregivers, and for those who would like to plan for the future. The program schedule is subject to change.
