KIF titles will be on the line in the next couple days, starting today at 4 p.m. for the trials and the finals will commence tomorrow at 4 p.m.
Last year’s KIF champions were the Waimea boys and the Kaua’i girls.
This will be the first KIF championships held on the newly rubberized Vidinha Stadium track.
At the fifth qualifying meet, the Red Raider girls and Menehune boys took the brunt of the contests, led by Kaua’i’s Tiffany Ikeda-Simao, Tara McCoy, and Jamilee Jimenez. Kenny Estes, Marc Oroc, and Bailon Batalion paced the Menehune boys.
The public is invited to watch the action on both days at free of charge.
