The newly rubberized surface at Vidinha Stadium will get a second look from KIF athletes today at 4 p.m. for another state qualifying meet.
However, today’s meet will host less students, because of the Velasco Invitational on O’ahu.
Some KIF athletes will be traveling to the Radford High School meet, which hosts some of the best tracksters from around the state.
It will give them a first-hand look at what the rest of the state has to offer.
The Mayor’s Invitational, which was originally scheduled for March 17-18, is still up in the air.
KIF officials are trying to find a way to squeeze in the meet, but due to the lack of available days, the event might not happen.
The third qualifying meet is still scheduled for Friday, March 31 at Vidinha Stadium. The 2006 State High School Track and Field Championships will be hosted by the ILH’s Kamehameha, from May 12-13.
