UFC’s Leopoldo among celebrity guests
UFC fighter Kimo Leopoldo is just one of many special guests who will be on hand at the Garden Isle Mixed Martial Arts Cage Match #3.
Other MMA stars planned to attend the autograph session include Kit Cope, Robbie Lawler, Jens Pulver, Niko Vitale, and Anthony Torres.
On March 26 at Hanapepe Stadium, numerous Kaua’i fighters will get a taste of what fighting in the outdoors is like, with the match breaking ground by being the first-ever outdoor MMA event on the island.
In the meantime, the first-ever women’s MMA contest on Kaua’i features Kapa’a’s A.J. Jenkins duking it out against Arizona’s Mystee Blackwood.
A special weighin and autograph session is scheduled to rock Kuku’i Grove’s Center Stage on March 24.
General admission tickets are $25 and $30 at the door. Ringside seats are available for $35.
Tickets can be purchased at Meyvn Skate in Lihu’e, Tropical Tantrum in Kapa’a, Dynamic Tinting in Puhi, Sweet and Sassy in ‘Ele’ele, Westside Sporting Goods in Waimea, M&H Service in Waimea, and Wong’s Restaurant in Hanapepe.

Hoop it up at Waimea Canyon Park
Bring your “A” games to the March Madness Basketball 3-on-3 Hoops Tournament on Saturday, March 11 at 12 noon, taking place at the Waimea Canyon Park Basketball Courts.
Everyone is invited to participate in the three leagues: women’s, men’s and coed, and yes, you can play in two leagues.
The double elimination event benefits the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life.

Pu’uwai Canoe Club recruiting men
Pu’uwai Canoe Club is looking for men interested in learning the sport of outrigger canoe paddling.
Their men practice Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, meeting at the Wailua River at 5 p.m. They have the paddles, the canoes, everything you need, just show up and try it out for a couple of weeks at no cost to you. For more information, call Brian at 635-6311.
Lihu’e Baseball League accepting applications
The Lihu’e Baseball League will be accepting player applications for its 2006 Mustang, Bronco and PONY seasons.
