Leaders at the Kauai Beach Hotel & Resort have named Diana Tuazon Manager of the Year, and Carl “Kalani” Agayan Associate of the Year, for 2005.
Tuazon serves as executive housekeeper at the hotel. She was nominated for manager of the year by Director of Rooms Sharolyn Kawakami-Lizama.
“Diane has worked hard this year to make our department more efficient and productive. She has demonstrated a ‘can-do’ (versus ‘cannot’) attitude that has been infectious to her team,” Kawakami-Lizama said.
Executive Chef Mark Sassone nominated Agayan, a steward in the hotel’s main kitchen, for associate of the year.
“Kalani is a 10-year associate who goes about his duties quietly but diligently,” notes Sassone.
“He is never idle, and is always willing to help on any project. No matter how large or small the job, he completes it with pride and ownership,” Sassone said.
Tuazon and Agayan were recognized by General Manager Rob Gunthner at the hotel’s annual holiday party in December, according to a press release.
The 350-room Kauai Beach Hotel & Resort, formerly known as the Radisson Kauai Beach Resort, is located on Kauai’s eastern Coconut Coast, just south of the Wailua Golf Course, off Kuhio Highway on Nukoli’i Beach near Hanama’ulu.
