Vicente Bartolome
Vicente Labrador Bartolome of Hanama’ulu died at home on Feb. 8, 2006, at the age of 74.
Born in the Philippines on July 19, 1931, he retired as an irrigator with Lihue Plantation.
He is survived by three daughters; Rachelle (Virgilio) Colobong of Puhi, Yolanda Bartolome of Hanama’ulu, Helen (Ricky) Uemura of Hanama’ulu, four brothers: Ciriaco, Manuel, Francisco and Benigno, all of the Philippines nine grandchildren, John Colobong, Donna Colobong, Sarah Colobong, Lindsey Pascua, Kessyca Pascua, Brittney Pascua, Jasper Jay Pascua, Kory Uemura, Royce Uemura, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, Feb. 17, at Immaculate Conception Church with visitation at 9 a.m.and Mass celebrated at 11 a.m. by Fr. Bill Shannon. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens in Kapa’ia.
Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
Tameko Iwai
Tameko Iwai of Kapa’a died at Garden Isle Healthcare on Feb. 7, 2006, at the age of 72.
Born in Kapa’a, on July 25, 1913, she was a seamstress.
Preceded in death by husband, Kenneth Kenichi Iwai, and son, Norman, she is survived by two sons, Howard Iwai and Paul (Cathy) Iwai, both of Kapa’a; daughter, Patsy (Brad) Imano of Kapa’a; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service officiated by Rev. Mary David will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 16, at the Kapaa Hongwanji Mission. Casual attire is suggested and flowers omitted.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
Lorenzo Ceballos
Lorenzo Ceballos of Waimea died Feb. 9, 2006, at his home at the age of 75.
Born Nov. 28, 1930, in Hawai’i, he was a welder.
He is survived by his wife: Helen Y. Ceballos; one daughter: Lorilyn Ceballos Mosley, grandson A.J. (Amity McCoy) Drawsand, III, granddaughter: Kenitha Lorayne Mosley and great grandson: Nyjahl Drawsand; one brother: Clem (Marie) Ceballos, two sisters: Sally Edayan and Betty Parraga.
Friends may visit with the family from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 16, at Kauai Veterans Cemetery Pavilion, where memorial services will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Inurnment to follow.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
