Motomu Onishi
Motomu “Rattle” Onishi passed away on Feb. 9, 2006, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 82. Born in Lihue, Kauai, on July 23, 1923, he retired as a Herbicide Crew Chief with Lihue Plantation.
He was preceded in death by daughter, Carol E. Yamamoto, and grandson, Quinten Yamamoto.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys Onishi of Lihue; two sons, Warren Onishi of Lihue, Terry (Candace) Onishi of Puhi; one daughter, Jerilyn (Dennis) Fukushima of Lihue; sister, Chieko Takeuchi of Omao; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2006, at the Lihue Baptist Church with visitation at 9 a.m. and services beginning at 10: a.m. The family requests flowers be omitted.
