County officials used a press release to remind Kaua‘i property owners that the second installment of real-property taxes for the 2005-06 tax year is due Feb. 20.
Payments may be made by mail, in person, or through a drop box located outside the Lihu‘e Civic Center Kapule Building. Checks should be made payable to the Director of Finance.
According to county officials, real property tax bills were recently mailed to all Kaua‘i property owners or their respective agents.
Property owners who pay their real property taxes directly and have not received their property-tax bills should immediately inquire at the Real Property Tax Collection office at the Lihu‘e Civic Center, Kapule Building, 4444 Rice Street, Suite 463, or call 241-6555.
Failure to pay real-property taxes by the due date will result in an assessment of a 10 percent penalty, as well as 12 percent interest per year, county officials said. For more information on real-property taxes, call 241-6555, or log on to www.kauaipropertytax.com.
