Margie Goolsby
Margie Goolsby died Jan. 7, 2006, in Koloa at the age of 81.
Born in Long Beach, Calif., she was a resident of Kaua’i since 1987.
She is survived by her son Pete of California; daughters: Paulette of Kaua’i, Clairelee of California and Kathy of California; 7 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
While living on beautiful Kaua’i, Margie devoted many years to donating her time to her community and church.
Private services were held. Arrangements were handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary. Donations may be made in honor of Margie to the Kauai Humane Society. The family asks that friends attend the church of their choice on Sunday.
John Rego Sr.
John Rego Sr., of Hanama’ulu, died at Garden Isle Healthcare on Dec. 20, 2005, at the age of 88.
Born in Hanama’ulu on Feb. 8, 1917, he was a power plant operator and electrician with Lihue Plantation Co.
Preceded in death by his wife, Onoubu, he is survived by three sons, Robert (Priscilla) Rego of Lihu’e, John (Lavern) Rego Jr., of Hanama’ulu and Nelson (Clara) Rego of Hilo, Hawai’i; daughter, Ilene Rego of Hayward, Calif.; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Martin Rego of Honolulu, O’ahu, Robert (Francis) Rego of Hanama’ulu; sister, Margaret Rapozo; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services were private. Arrangements were handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
