Retired principal Maggie Cox of Lihu‘e was assigned to several Board of Education committees, it was announced last week.
Cox was the first principal for King Kaumuali’i Elementary school in Hanama‘ulu and the first principal for Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School in Puhi.
She was tapped to chair the Regular Education, Kindergarten through 12th grade- Performance Standards, Assessment & Accountability; Student Discipline; Guidance & Counseling; Career & Technical Education; Hawaiian Education,” committee.
She was also assigned to a Special Programs Committee, Support Services, Budget & Fiscal Accountability, Public Libraries and New Century Charter Schools Committee.
She will also be the primary liaison for the Hawaii Teacher Standards Board.
