Pop Warner donates $3,000 to United Way
By Duane Shimogawa Jr. – The Garden Island
The Kaua’i Pop Warner Football League has a great track record in giving back to the community.
And last week was just another instance, where the top-notch organization helped out the island’s less fortunate once again.
KPWFL has awarded $3,000 from the 2005 Annual Charity Bowl to the 24 vital participating agencies supported by the Kaua’i United Way.
The money will benefit thousands of Kaua’i people in the coming year through dozens of crucial social services provided by these agencies, right here on Kaua’i.
Charity Bowl winners are as follows:
Punt, Pass & Kick contest winners for the Pee Wee Division: 1st: Dallas Correa, 2nd: Paul Oligo.
Punt, Pass & Kick contest winners for the Junior Pee Wee Division: 1st: Keane Agoot, 2nd: Keoni Ana, 3rd: Trey Aguano, Isaiah Sarkodeh.
Adult Field Goal contest: coach Shane Brede, 45 yards.
Thousands of Kaua’i workers support our community through Kaua’i United Way through payroll deduction at their places of employment. If you would like information about a Kaua’i United Way campaign at your business, call 245-2043. If you would like to contribute directly, your donation will be gratefully received at: Kaua’i United Way, P.O. Box 1087, Lihu’e, Hawai’i 96766.
