Olaf Elia Thronas
Olaf Elia Thronas passed away surrounded by his family on Nov. 27, 2005 at the age of 79.
Born in Papa’a, Kaua’i on April 4, 1926, he was a lifelong rancher. He was a mechanic, car salesman, started his own business in heavy equipment rental and repairs, reforestation and cesspool digging. His largest achievement was his incorporation of trucking, ready-mix concrete manufacturer and material supplier. As president and owner of O. Thronas, Inc. he secured his concrete business and became the owner of Kauai Aggregates, a rock quarry and crusher operation. He was an independent businessman for over 50 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Olaf Thorkil and Irene Maka Thronas; brothers Stanley, Fred, and Samuel Thronas, James Kaneakua, and sister, Agnes Thronas.
He is survived by three children, Stanley (Ginger) Thronas, Ku’ulei Thronas (Larry Loganbill) and Nalani (Andrew) Finn, five grandchildren, James Kahea Thronas, Taylor Kapono Thronas, Anna Ku’uleimakamae Thronas Loganbill, Zoe Kamalei Finn and Andrew Eli Finn. Also survived by a brother, Henry (Renee) Thronas of Wailua and two sisters, Irene Strong and Betty La Coe, both of California; two sisters-in-law; Mary Thronas and Betty Jean Thronas of Wailua as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, Dec. 9, at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary in Koloa 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Service to follow at 11:30. Private burial. Aloha attire is suggested

Heather Hokulani Woodward of Anahola, passed away Nov. 23, 2005, at her home in Anahola at the age of 48.
Born March 17, 1957, on Kaua’i, she was housekeeping supervisor for the Princeville Hotel.
Preceded in death by her father: Howard Woodward and brother: Stanley Woodward, she is survived by her mother: Edith Woodward of Lihu’e; daughter; Adrianna (Ole Morita) Untalan of Anahola; two sons: Keola (Shanti Oga) Cruiz, Anahola and Manuel Untalan, of Anahola; sister: Celeste (Ted) Castillo of Wailua; five brothers: Samuel (Margaret) Woodward of Kilauea, Hayden (Jackie) Woodward of Pearl City, O’ahu; Darriel (Iris) Woodward of California, Llewellyn (Nadine) Woodward, of Anahola, and Dayne (Dolly) Woodward of Kapahi; two grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, Dec. 10, at the Kauai Veterans Center in Lihu’e with viewing from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and services at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
