Minoru Kubota
Minoru Kubota of Kapa’a died at Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital on Oct. 13, 2005, at the age of 82. Born in Koloa on Aug. 10, 1923, he was a road sweeper with the County of Kaua’i as well as a selfemployed business man.
He is survived by his wife, Kiyoko; four sons: Jerry Kubota of Kapa’a; Allan Kubota of Provo, Utah; Kenneth (Cheryl) Kubota of Kapa’a; and Bobbie (Lynn) Kubota of Kapa’a; three daughters: Eunice (Dexter) Olivas of Kalaheo; Bernice (Roy) Hashimoto of ‘Ele’ele; and Joyce (Glen) Kaneshiro of Kane’ohe, O’ahu; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters: Gladys Matsuda and Kimi (Ed) Michelman, both of Honolulu; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22, at the Kapaa Missionary Church. The service begins at 3 p.m. Casual or aloha attire is suggested, and flowers should be omitted, family members said.

Ruth Sabina Carroll of Makaha, O’ahu, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Oct. 11, 2005 at the age of 66. Born in Wahiawa, O’ahu on Sept. 22, 1939, she was a substitute school teacher with Makaha Elementary School.
She is survived by three sons: Paul D. (Eloise) Carroll of Austin, Texas; Kenneth D. (Josie) Carroll of Hanama’ulu; and Sam Lave of Hilo, Hawai’i; daughter, Kuulei Lave of Las Vegas; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; parents, Gerardo and Adelaide Regidor of Honolulu; brother, Ben Regidor of Maui; three sisters: Dolores (Jesse) Learned of Makaha, O’ahu; Esmarelda Shel-track of Makaha, O’ahu; and Juanita (Leo) Ancheta of Mililani, O’ahu; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 25, 6:30 p.m. at Thy Word Ministries in Hanama’ulu. The family suggests casual attire.

Geraldine “Jerri” Stevens
Geraldine “Jerri” Stevens of Lihu’e died at her residence in Lihu’e on Oct. 12, 2005, at the age of 73. Born in Wyoming on Dec. 23, 1931, she was the proprietor of a doughnut shop in Lihu’e.
She is survived by her husband, James V. Stevens; daughter, Celia Hacker; son, Victor Stevens; mother, Doloris Morgan; sisters, Maxine (Richard) Harless and Marilynn (Dave) Deaver; and two grandchildren.
Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary
