The Hawai’i State Jr. Golf Association’s (HSJGA) Jr. Tour Series continued this past weekend at the Puakea Golf Course.
There were three tournaments over the two day period: An 18-hole event was held on Saturday and a separate 18-hole competition was held on Sunday.
The two individual tournaments were combined into a 36-hole tournament. Winners in all three events will be invited to participate in the 2005 HSJGA Tournament of Champions to be held at Wailea on December 10-11.
Top Kaua’i performers included Reyn Morioka of Lihu’e, who took the 36-hole boys 10-and-under title with a 168, Sean Ogawa of Kapa’a (2nd-place boys 15-18 with a 149), Kellen Watabu of Kapa’a (3rd-place boys 15-18 with a 150), and Miki Ueoka of Lihu’e, who shot a 158, which was good enough for 3rd-place in the girls’ 15-18 division.
Kaua’i golfers who finished in the top three in the 18-hole contests were Morioka, Rae-Lyn Morikawa, Noel Torres, Mike Garcia, Watabu, Kelli Oride, Ueoka, Wiley Yoshioka, and Ogawa.
