Agatona “Inang” Limon Fontanilla of Kaumakani, died on Oct. 6 , 2005, at the Kauai Care Center, Waimea, at the age of 97.
Born Jan. 8, 1908, in Urdaneta, Pangasinan, Philippines, she was a homemaker and a seasonal summer hire for the pineapple industry. Her husband Catalino Fontanilla, son Rod Fontanilla, daughter-in-llaw Elaine Fontanilla, grandchild Marissa Gonsalves and parents Benito and Feliciana Limon preceded her in death.
She is survived by sons Chris (Jan) Fontanilla of Farwell, Tex., Archie (Alice) Fontanila of Kaumakani, Joseph (Nancy) Fontanilla of Lawa’i and Gustino Fontanilla of Kalaheo; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grand-children; one great-great-grandson; brother-in law Marcelo (Irene) Fontanilla of Kaumakani; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
A Celebration of Life on Friday, Oct. 14, will begin with visitation from 8 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. at the Garden Island Mortuary, Lawai, and funeral services by Pastor Daniel Bracken, Kings Chapel, will start at 9:30 a.m. with burial to follow at the Kauai Memorial Gardens, Kapaia. The family suggests casual attire. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
