Lorenzo Abon Lastimoza
Lorenzo “Menelio Inso Lasti” Abon Lastimoza of Koloa and Wailuku, Maui, died Oct. 5, 2005, at Maui Memorial Hospital at the age of 78.
Born July 22, 1927, in Lubnac Taguiden Ilocos Sur, Philippines, he was a senior cleaning plant operator for McBryde Sugar Company.
Preceded in death by his parents, Mena and Francesca Lastimoza, he is survived by his wife of 51 years: Teodocia “Sising” Lopez Lastimoza; four sons: Lorenzo “Larry” Lastimosa, Benjamin “Benny” Lastimosa, Timothy “Timmy” Lastimosa, and Melchior “Mel” (Vilma) Lastimosa; four daughters: Lorena (Nathan) Nanod, Melissa Hedges, Linnea “Lee” Lastimosa, and Meda Lastimosa; hanai son: Chad Lastimosa and five grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends may call on Thursday, Oct. 13, at Borthwick Mortuary Chapel in Koloa from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and again on Friday, Oct. 14, at St. Raphael’s Church in Koloa from 8 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. where Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. by Father Bizz. Burial to follow at St. Raphael’s Church Cemetery in Koloa.

Shinobu Yokoyama
Shinobu Yuasa Yokoyama of Koloa, died at Garden Isle Health-care on Oct. 1, 2005, at the age of 95.
Born in Koloa on April 12, 1910, she was a custodian with Eleele School.
She is survived by two sons, Allen (Yuriye) Yokoyama of Puhi and Victor Yokoyama of Honolulu; five grandchildren; three sisters, Hiroko Muranaka, Kiyoko Sako and Tsuyako Kakuda; numerous nieces and nephews. Services were private.

Tokie Ishiguro
Tokie Ishiguro of Lawa’i, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Sept. 30, 2005, at the age of 89.
Born in Makaweli on Dec. 18, 1915, she was a seamstress/housewife.
She is survived by three sons, Edward (Ann) Ishiguro of Victoria, Canada, George Ishiguro of Milpitas, Calif. and Robert (Laz) Ishiguro of Lawa’i; two daughters, Judy (Pete) Pescador of Kelso, Wash. and Linda Ishiguro of Cheney, Wash.; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Services were private.

Dionicio “Johnny” V. Viernes Villanueva of Hanama’ulu died at home on Oct. 2, 2005, at the age of 84.
Born in Ilocos Norte, Philip-pines on Oct. 6, 1920, he retired as a heavy equipment operator with Lihue Sugar Plantation.
He is survived by his wife Emilia Villanueva of Hanama’ulu, one son Philip (Marlene) Villanueva, one daughter, Nellie (Leo) Bunao, all of Kapa’a, one brother, Clem-ente (Dionie) Villanueva of Honolulu, five sisters, Laure-ana Calaycay, Albina (Monico) Viernes, both of Hanama’ulu, Eugenia (Isaac) Ag-caoili, Corazon Villanueva, Divina Gapusan all of the Philippines, four grandchildren; Ryan of Las Vegas, Tyler, Danielle, Bradley of Kapa’a, numerous relatives, nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family will be on Saturday, Oct. 15, at Immaculate Conception Church from 9 a.m. with Mass celebrated at 11 a.m. by Fr. Bill Shannon. Burial to fol-low at Kauai Memorial Gardens in Kapa’ia.

Pedro I. Idica, Jr.
Pedro I. Idica, Jr. of Kekaha, died Sept. 22, 2005, at Nagongburan Sinait, Ilocos Sur, Philippines, at the age of 63.
Born in Nagongburan Sinait, Ilocos Sur, he retired from the sugar cane plantation.
He is survived by his wife: Mar-celina (“Marci”) Idica, of Kekaha; son: Romio Idi-ca, of Honolulu; daughter: Velma (Romy Jr) Idica-Idica, Costante Idica, Juan (Lucre-cia) Idica, Arturo (Vilma) Idica; five grandchildren: Xavier, Jonathan, Chason, Chathan and Jorryn; nu-merous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held in the Philip-pines. A memorial service wil be held on Saturday, Oct. 15, at Borth-wick Kauai Mortuary at 3 p.m.

Elizabeth Ann Buck Schrader
Elizabeth “Betty” Anne Buck Schrader of Kapa’a, died Monday, Oct. 3, 2005, at the age of 58.
Born Aug. 16, 1947, in Danville, Va., she is preceded in death by her parents, William Charles Buck and Elizabeth Anne Powell Buck.
She is survived by her sister, Susan (Bob) Trayor of North Carolina; sons: Ka’aukai (Sandy) Schrader of California; Ka’ulana (Liza) Schrader of O’ahu, Kanaloa Schrader of Kapa’a and Alapai Schrader of Kapa’a; five grandchildren, one nephew and many hanai children and grandchildren.
A casual memorial service will be held Saturday, Oct. 15, at Anini Beach (end of the road, Grandma Lizzie’s) at 2:30 p.m. Refreshments will follow at the family’s residence in Kapa’a.

Agatona Fontanilla
Agatona “Inang” Limon Fonta-nilla of Kaumakani, died on Oct. 6, 2005, at the Kauai Care Center, Waimea, at the age of 97.
Born Jan. 8, 1908, in Urdaneta, Pangasinan, Philippines, she was a homemaker and a seasonal sum-mer hire for the pineapple industry. Her husband Catalino Fontanilla, son Rod Fontanilla, grandchild Marissa Gonsalves and parents Benito and Feliciana Limon preceded her in death.
She is survived by sons Chris (Jan) Fontanilla of Farwell, Tex., Archie (Alice) Fontanila of Kaumakani, Joseph (Nancy) Fontanilla of Lawa’i and Gustino Fontanilla of Kalaheo; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; brother-in law Marcelo (Irene) Fontanilla of Kaumakani; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
A Celebration of Life on Friday, Oct. 14, will begin with visitation from 8 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. at the Gar-den Island Mortuary, Lawai, and funeral services by Pastor Daniel Bracken, Kings Chapel, will start at 9:30 a.m. with burial to follow at the Kauai Memorial Gardens, Kapaia. Eliza A. Carreira of Lihu’e, died Oct. 3, 2005, at Garden Isle Health-care at the age of 78.
Born on July 12, 1927, she retired as the wedding coordinator with Coco Palms Hotel.
She is survived by her son, King-sley (Joyce) Nuuhiwa of Honolulu; sisters: Margaret Kupo of Honolulu and Gloria Bond of California.
Visitation with the family will be on Thursday, Oct. 13, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Lihu’e Ward from 9 a.m., with a Chapel service celebrated at 10 a.m. by Bishop Andy Sennett. Burial to follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens in Kapaia.

Margaret Kahana Akiyama of Kapa’a, died at home on Sept. 5, 2005, at the age of 74.
Born in Honolulu, O’ahu, on Feb. 13, 1931, she was a food preparer with Big Save, Inc.
She is survived by a son, Jr. Ato; four daughters, Pacita Neria of Las Vegas, NV., Carmen (Gary) Saiki of Wailua, Minda (Greg Lavalsiti) Hada of Wailua Home-steads and Jovita (Mario) Lagoc of Kaumakani; 18 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; three broth-ers, Johnny MokePuha, Clarence MokePuha and Victor MokePuha; four sisters, Ella Wright, Marie Warner, Mercy (Edward) Yong and Pua Stone. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22, at the end of Lydgate Park. Scattering to follow by the family. Aloha attire is suggested and flow-ers omitted.
