Think outside the box
Mr. Yata, I am sure you were an excellent officer when you were in KPD but, with all due respect, I think you may have missed the point. The world has changed a lot since your day and it is time we ‘Think outside the box.’
Firstly, it is well known that the State of Hawai’i is the “Ice” capitol of the United States. Refer to various documentaries by national television.
Secondly, 70 percent of crime is caused by people using or abusing drugs. Per capita, crime is higher on Kaua’i than the neighbor islands.
Finally, we are in a new century and an information age. To say we should not alarm the people is to keep our heads buried in the sand.
We have just witnessed the worst disaster the nation has ever faced in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.
This was caused by administrations not wanting to “Alarm the People.” I want to know where my money is being spent and the police department is there “To Serve and Protect.”
Again I ask, stop all this bickering, leave the Department alone and allow it to continue to produce the phenomenal results it is now doing.
