LIHU’E — The Waimea Girls JV team improved to 4-0 following their two-game sweep, Saturday.
On the boys side, the Menehune JV boys joined their counterparts with an equal two-game sweep to tie the Kaua’i JV boys with a 3-1 standings.
Excitement dominated the girls side of the court as the Menehune took three games to get past both Kaua’i (24-26, 27-25, 11-15) and Kapa’a (25-19, 13-25, 7-15).
On the boys’ side of the court, Waimea took three games to get past Kapa’a, 10-25, 25-12, 15-13) before meeting up with Kaua’i who fell 25-21, 25-20.
The Red Raiders prevailed over Kapa’a, 25-17, 25-14 in the JV girls court despite strong audience support for the Warrior wahine, and managed the JV boys, 25-17, 25-23.
Kapa’a, who will be looking for their first win, will host this weekend’s JV games starting at 10 a.m. at the Bernice Hundley Gym.
Standings after two weeks have the Menehune leading the girls race, 4-0 followed by the Raiders, 2-2. Kapa’a is 0-4 despite strong play.Kaua’i and Waimea share the lead in the JV boys race with 3-1 standings followed by Kapa’a at 0-4.
