LIHU‘E — Kauai High School will host the 4th Annual Kauai Challenge Girls Volleyball Invitational from Aug. 11-13.
The girl’s high school varsity volleyball tournament will have 16 teams participating.
Teams competing, include Hawaii Schools: Roosevelt (defending champs), Pearl City, Radford, Molokai, Kealakehe, Hawaii Baptist Academy, Maryknoll, Le Jardin, Sacred Hearts, Kauai, Kapaa, Waimea; California Schools: Mater Dei, Corona Del Mar, Notre Dame-San Jose and Memorial High from Texas.
On Thursday and Friday, Aug. 11-12, all matches will be held at the Kauai High School gymnasium. On Saturday, Aug. 13, matches will be held at the Kauai and Kapa’a High School gymnasiums. A complete schedule is posted at http://www.members@aol.com/kauaivb.
“The Tournament will raise money for the volleyball program and provide high schools on Kauai with the opportunity to play quality pre-season volleyball at home,” said Richard Roberts, Kauai High School Girl’s Volleyball Head Coach and Tournament Director.

Ramos Electric and the many parents and volunteers who make the event happen.” This year’s tournament looks to be one of the most competitive yet. If you love volleyball you will be treated to some great play.
Shortly following the championship match, there will be an awards banquet featuring speaker, pastor, youth expert, writer and cartoonist Rick Bundschuh, a DVD show of the tournament and some Tahitian dance put on by the Villatora family and some of the players on the Kauai High JV Squad.
