Kaua‘i Motocross heads to O‘ahu

17 members of the (KMRA) Kaua‘i Motocross Riders Association will be participating in this weekend’s 32nd Annual Championship Mx Race held on O‘ahu at Kahuku Motorcycle Park. Riders will be competing in 85cc, 125cc, 250cc, school boy and quad classes.
Members competing will be Randal Takenaka, Jared Ham Young, Chris Sandobal, Kalei Souza, Isaac Oshita, Jonathan Ajimine, Chris Byram, Jake Monroe, Alex Berry, Tommy Berry, Mikey Abell, Jessie Britt, Jake Britt, Cody Pagador, Randen Allianic, Chava Greenlee, and Paul Medeiros.
All members and parents would like to thank club officials and Subway for all the support.
Anahola hosts state horseshoe tournament
The Anahola Horseshoe Club with Hanalei Horseshoe Pitchers will host the Hawai‘i State Horseshoe Pitching Association’s 15th Annual State Doubles Championship Tournament, from July 2-3 in Anahola.
It is a sanctioned tournament with statistics reported to the national horseshoe pitching association and is held every year on the 4th of July weekend.
There will be a beef stew and rice dinner on Friday, July 1 at 6:30 p.m. The tournament will begin on Saturday, July 2, with teams checking in at 8 a.m.
The 4-time women’s state champions Linda Ferreira and sister Wendy Martinez from Kona will be on hand.
Entry fee is $40 per team or $20 per player. Spectators or anyone who would like more information on organized horseshoe pitching is welcomed. For more information, contact Myrtle May Kamoku at 821-0602.
Northshore Pop Warner registration
NSPW Association is taking registration for all boys and girls from age 8 to 12 years old. They’re looking for Tackle & Cheerleading participants in the JPW, Pee Wees, and Midgets division for the 2005 season.
If interested, register on Fridays and Wednesdays for the month of July at the Kilauea Gym from 4-6 p.m. For more information please call John at 828-0129.
Hanalei Canoe Club Tahiti Fete
Hanalei Canoe Club is hosting its 20th Annual Tahiti Fete on Saturday, July 2nd.
The fun in the sun and the ocean start at 9 a.m. by the Hanalei Pier. There will be crafts, food, music, a special drawing for prizes and fun events for the kids.
The Tahiti Fete Community Paddling Classic features 1/4 mile outrigger canoe races which are open to rookies and experienced paddlers. Bring a team of five and we will supply the canoe, the paddles and the steersperson. Individuals may buy a seat in a canoe for $25.00. Preregistration is $100.00 per crew and $125.00 on race day.
Kapa‘a HYSA soccer players wanted
The Kapaa Blaze Soccer Club is looking for boys and girls who would like to play in the HYSA soccer league in the Under 12 and Under 14 age divisions.
