In the first quarter of 2005, Toyota had a 26.8-percent market share of car sales in Kaua‘i, and a 31.3-percent market share for light-truck brands, higher than any other Hawaiian Island. Statewide, Toyota ruled the roost with a 23.5-percent market share, according to data provided by the Hawaii Automobile Dealers’ Association.
