I found the editorial of May 4th entitled, “Local alternative-energy development needed” quite interesting.
One form of alternate energy not discussed was tidal power. As I recall both England and Holland have built full scale power plants using the action of ocean waves and/or tidal rac es to generate electrical power, and there might be a scheme that could be used on the islands.

The rationale to blame the peace activist for the lost military lives in Vietnam and Korea amazes me. What about the millions of innocent civilians killed by our military there? Yes, if we had stayed the course, and killed all the Vietnamese and Korean population, plus our peace activists here at home, then we could be bragging about “freedom and democracy.” And more nations would have learnt to hate Americans sooner than now.
I have to agree with one statement of the letter writer: “I sure hope it doesn’t happen in Iraq.” So do I, because I hope that we won’t have to wait for our peace activists to achieve that our military men and women are brought home right away to defend our country when needed and be stopped from bringing more misery and sadness to the people they were sent to “liberate” under false pretenses.
