Conrad E. Schwarze died at his home on April 25, 2005, at the age of 85.
Conrad was a retired math and science teacher with the state of California. In his younger years, he worked as a farmer, a wing design person with Northrop Aircraft and an Army veteran. He attended Sacramento Jr. College and graduated from San Jose State College.
Conrad and his wife moved to Kaua‘i in 1985 to be closer to their children and grandchildren and enjoy life on Kaua‘i. He was an active member of Kalaheo Missonary Church and belonged to the Kaua‘i Retired Teachers Association.
Conrad is survived by his wife of 61 years, Laurie Schwarze; children: Conrad D. (Leslie) Schwarze of Wailua, Craig (Athelia) Schwarze of Livermore, Calif.; Connie (Fernando) Schwarze Briones of Spain; Laurie (Glen) Makaneole of Hanapepe; grandchildren: Jude (Wendy) Schwarze of Wailua, Cody (Maury) Foye of Arizona, Kekoa (Lisa) Makaneole of Washington, Jason and Leia Makaneole of Hanapepe, Karen and Danny Schwarze of California and Alexie Schwarze of Wailua; great-grand-children Tylor, Mason, Tareu, and Vaughn Schwarze, also Mahea Makaneole and Cayen Foye; sisters: Lois Schwarze, Bette Schwarze and Mary Ann (Jerry) Hudson, all of Sacramento; many nephews and nieces. Additional family includes Connie Otero, Diane Williams and Victoria VanDam He is preceded in death by grandson Shawn Schwarze and great-granddaughter Tahnee Schwarze.
Memorial services will be held at Kalaheo Missionary Church on Saturday, May 7. Visitation with famiy will begin at 9 a.m. followed by the service at 10 a.m.
The family requests casual attire and that flowers be omitted.
