If you’re a fan of mixed martial arts or if you are curious about the sport, then you might as well check it out, as Kaua‘i’s prime fighters, along with a host of other mixed martial arts fighters, will be on display at Kapa‘a High School’s Gym on March 19, starting at 6 p.m.
Koloa’s Eben Kaneshiro, who stands at 5’7″ and weighs about 150 lbs., is 5-1 in mixed martial arts matches.
The 25-year-old Kaua‘i High School graduate, made it to the final of the King of the Cage contest in California and nearly won the event, but fell in the final by decision.
Kaneshiro has won all over the world, including the Philippines, Guam, and Brazil.
He currently holds a black belt in the Kamole Jiu Jitsu Club.
Another Koloa resident, Eric Pajdak, who stands at 5’8″ and weighs 175 lbs., is a submission grappler, who is new to the sport.
Padjak is a 35-year-old firefighter for the Koloa Fire Station.
25-year-old Kyle Sukehara is 5’8″ and weighs 155 lbs. and already has a state title in Jiu Jitsu.
The Wailua resident won the Nagi in 2002-2003 in the expert division. He currently holds on to a black belt in Jiu Jitsu and will be fighting in the mixed competition.
Kapa‘a’s Kaeo Lopez is a 2004 Nagi expert and a 2003 Grapplers Paradise Cup winner.
The 25-year-old stands at 5’8″ and weighs 165 lbs. Lopez has a black belt in Jiu Jitsu. Come see these four individuals and many more, battling it out at the mixed martial arts tournament on March 19 at Kapa‘a High School’s Gym, starting at 6 p.m. All styles welcomed.
