Former Kauaians attend XanGo convention
Former Kaua‘i residents Ferdinand and Daisy Batin, now of Salinas, Calif., recently attended XanGo LLC’s Madness Convention, which was held in Las Vegas earlier this month. The Batins are distributors for the Utah-based company which offers XanGo Juice, a patented dietary supplement made from the whole mangosteen fruit. XanGo Juice is marketed through a network of independent distributors in the United States and 11 foreign markets.
Nearly 3,500 distributors from around the world gathered in the Rio All- Suite Hotel and Casino off The Strip in Las Vegas. The XanGo Madness convention is an opportunity for independent distributors to access sales tools and hear from founders and top leaders, Ferdinand Batin said. “Every XanGo event is unique,” said Aaron Garrity, president and chief operating officer of XanGo, LLC. “But there are a few constants: the incredible energy, vision and potential of each XanGo distributor.” New York Times bestselling author Richard Paul Evans spoke to XanGo distributors during a special session. “Few groups demonstrate the passion and enthusiasm that XanGo does,” said Evans. “I’m wildly excited to speak at their convention.” Evans is the author of several bestselling books, including “The Christmas Box,” “The Locket” and “The Five Lessons a Millionaire Taught Me.” In 1997, Evans started The Christmas Box House, a shelter for abused and neglected children. Because of founders’ commitment to helping improve the global community — especially by supporting children in need worldwide — XanGo officials donate a portion of every sale to Operation Kids, a foundation that supports worthwhile children’s charities. Internationally known charity Operation Smile is an example of one of the six charities currently supported by Operation Kids. XanGo officials’ relationship with Operation Kids has generated more than $1 million in either direct donations or fund-raising efforts during 2004.
