For petition Hawai‘i the first time, Kaua‘i surfers will be on their home turf at states.
Kaua‘i will be hosting its first regional championship event from March 19-27 at Pinetrees. Three days of solid com-will then name the top winners of the Region.
All competitors who have gained enough points after the championship regional contest, will then receive an invitation to compete at the California National Contest in June 2005.
Hawai‘i traditionally plays a major role in these national contests, sending the best to compete for the national title.
The NSSA is the most prestigious amateur surfing organization in the nation. The NSSA national contests have been called the draft for the pros, sponsors from the industry flock to this event to select the brightest stars.
Well-known local professional surfers Andy and Bruce Irons, Rochelle Ballard, and Kalani Robb, all worked their way through the ranks of the NSSA, winning national titles.
Come enjoy a day in the sun and watch as Hawai‘i’s young and talented surfers battle in the points race.
Interested surfers may pick up entries at Progressive Expressions, Nukumoi Surf Company, and Hanalei Surf Company.
