Jeff Corona, King Auto Center’s Salesperson of the Year eight of the last nine years, including 2004, has recently been promoted to the position of sales manager, from sales representative, moving into a management position created especially for him.
It’s a position that he has long aspired to, he said. “It is something that I have wanted for some years.
“I’m still there to help service my customers, but now I will be helping the sales staff service all of King Auto Center’s customers,” said Corona, 41.
His new position involves training the sales staff in terms of professionalism and product knowledge, all designed to improve the sales experience for customers, he said.
It’s a constant updating process to keep salespeople and customers informed and aware of equipment changes, new makes and models, and other innovations in the fastchanging world of new cars and trucks, he said.
He has seven to 10 salespeople under him, and is now part of management that includes Owner Charlie King, General Manager Jose Aguayo, General Sales Manager Ron Valencia, Finance Manager Vernon Yoshida, and Used Car Manager John Gillespie.
Corona has been with King Auto Center for nine years, and in the automotive industry for 23 years. He looks at his new position with “excitement. I’m ready for the challenge,” he said. He is eager to contribute to the continued success the King Auto Center ‘ohana has enjoyed, and is looking forward to supporting the salespeople with their customers.
King Auto Center sells new Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep and Honda vehicles, including hybrid Civic and Accord models. Nearly every make and model is available in the used-car arena.
Corona lives in Lihu‘e with sons Jake, 11, and Cy, 10, and fiancee Cindy Asuncion.
King Auto Center is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
