Pro Bowl youth clinic
The NFL is giving back to Hawai‘i’s communities and its kids, joining HTA in sponsoring Pro Bowl Clinics all around the state, including Kaua‘i.
The slots for the clinics are filled, but fans are invited to watch the training take place.
NFL players scheduled to participate include: Jeff Ulbrich (49ers), Wayne Hunter (Seahawks), Chris Naeole (Jaguars), Maake Kemoeatu (Ravens), Terrell Buckley (Jets), Zack Crockett (Raiders), Earl Little (Browns), Darnerien McCants (Redskins), Josh McCown (Cardinals), Fred McCrary (Falcons), Cedrick Wilson (49ers).

Youth basketball exchange program
Sports For Youth Foundation is currently accepting applications from American boys aged 1520 who are accomplished high school basketball players and good citizens, both in their school and community, to take part in the 2005 Goodwill Ambassadors World Tours.

Kilohana Canoe Club wants you
The Kilohana Canoe Club invites adults interested in canoe paddling to come out for the 2005 canoe paddling season. The women practice on Mondays and Wednesdays, men on Tuesday and Thursdays at 5:30 p.m. by Waimea River Mouth. Beginners and experienced paddlers encouraged to join them for a healthy, fun, and family oriented sport.

Huss, Tanner get lucky at Puakea
Larry Huss of Toledo, Ohio nailed a holeinone on Friday, Jan. 28 at the Puakea Golf Course. He used a Callaway 5 Wood on hole #6, 156 yards.
Michael Johnston was the witness.
Lihu‘e’s John Tanner also got an ace on Friday at hole #4, 141 yards, using a 7 Iron Wilson Deep Red. Jeff Bell was the witness.
Iloreta leads Eastside
Jason Iloreta and Maluhia States combined for 26 points, as Eastside upended GUnit A, 5529 in the County’s 12andunder boys basketball league at Kalaheo Gym on Jan. 31.
Manas Kshirsagar and Donovan Harrison combined for 17 points for GUnit.
Kalaheo, Hanapepe take AJA wins
David Bukoski led the way for Lihu‘e in a 134 triumph over Kalaheo on Jan. 30 in AJA baseball action.
Kaleo Saiki and Kaina McCallum allowed just three runs and struck out 11 Lihu‘e batters.
Palani Bukoski (23, 2 RBI’s), Kainoa Santos (26, 2 RBI’s), Brandon Ishibashi (25, 1 RBI), Troy Kaneshiro (13, 2 RBI’s), and Keola McCallum (24, 2 RBI’s) contributed at the plate for Kalaheo.
Mikey Cardinez (34, 2 RBI’s), Stanton Yoshimori (34), Tommy Cox (14), Dan Tanimoto (15), and Ahren Kaneshiro (13) paced the Lihu‘e side.
Cardinez, Barry Kawamura, and Kaneshiro pitched for Lihu‘e.
In game two, Hanapepe nipped Makaweli, 75 as Jason Nakata and Gordon Muramaru allowed just 4 runs for the winners.
Ryan Yamauchi (34, 2 RBI’s), Royce Ijima (13, 2 RBI’s), Leighton Otoman (14), Muramaru (11, 1 RBI), and Sean Jardin (13) led the Makaweli cause.
Quinton Natividad (25), Keith Nonaka (25, 2 RBI’s), Wendell Nonaka (14, 3 RBI’s), Leroy Nonaka (24), Kevin Suga (15), and Kelly Robinson (14) put up the good numbers for Hanapepe.
