It’s do or die time for the Red Raider girls’ varsity squad, who face Waimea today at Vidinha Stadium. Kapa‘a will certainly be in attendance watching the game closely because if the Menehune win, the Warriors will claim the KIF girls soccer title.
However, if Kaua‘i and Waimea tie, Kapa‘a will have to either tie or come away with a victory over the Menehune in the KIF season finale on Jan. 29 at Hanapepe Ballpark.
The boys race isn’t over just yet, as the Red Raider boys can still win the KIF title, with help from Kapa‘a.
Kaua‘i must win today and hope for two consecutive losses for the Menehune against the Warriors.
Waimea can wrap up the KIF boys soccer title with a win today over Kaua‘i. The KIF soccer season finale is set for Jan. 29 at Hanapepe Ballpark, with Waimea and Kapa‘a battling it out.
The boys state soccer tournament goes from Feb. 9-12 at War Memorial Stadium on Maui.
Meanwhile, the girls state soccer tournament is from Feb. 16-19 at the Waipio Soccer Complex on O‘ahu.
