It looked like a scene out of a disaster movie, with a sizable crowd checking out the action as two Kaua‘i Fire Department trucks and crews and two American Medical Response ambulances and crews descended on Nawiliwili Harbor’s Pier 2 upon the morning arrival of the Norwegian Wind yesterday.
That commotion that caused a major traffic jam both inside and outside the harbor security fences turned out to be nothing more than response for a call about a seasick visitor, and a1nother who complained of back pain.
Sources told The Garden Island that rough seas prior to the arrival of both the Norwegian Wind and Island Princess at Nawiliwili Harbor yesterday were the likely causes of the illness and injury.
Patients were checked out at the scene, and were back on the ship in time for departure.
