Although the Red Raiders have wrapped up the first round title, the second round of KIF softball could come down to the wire with all three teams showcasing one loss in the second round of play.
Kapa‘a, who got its first win of the season against Waimea, will have another chance today at 5:30 p.m. at Waimea Canyon Park to hand the Menehune another defeat.
Kapa‘a has improved as the season has gone along and with a win against the Menehune, they will put themselves in the hunt for the second round title.
The Red Raiders have shown that they can be beaten if their bats are silenced.
Waimea proved that very fact this past Saturday in the first game of the doubleheader in which the Menehune won, 7-2.
However, Kaua‘i bounced back in the second game with a 9-8 victory.
Kaua‘i’s second round mark is 2-1, followed by Waimea at 1-1, and Kapa‘a sits at 0-1.
The Red Raiders and Warriors battle it out at Isenberg Field on Saturday in doubleheader action starting at 10 a.m.
