LIHU‘E — The Kapa‘a Warriors had a lot of reasons to celebrate Friday night, as they picked up their first win of the Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation football season on the night of their homecoming and final game.
Queen Veronica Pablo reigned over the celebration and festivities that overcame the miserable wet conditions of the rainy night, the youthful zest of the court negotiating the makeshift bridge over the moat that appeared on the field side of the Vidinha Stadium track.
Also, due to the inclement weather, the formal court photos had to be passed over, since organizers were concerned about the gowns getting soiled and soggy.
Court chairperson Audrey Wickman provided The Garden Island with results of the homecoming vote.
Tara Pascua reigned as Miss Warrior, while Liana Kakalia ruled as Miss Touchdown.
Ashly Villanueva hailed as Miss Spirit, and Leilani Josselin wore the crown of Miss Touchdown in the Warriors’ victory over Waimea.
Class representatives included Lorin Reid from the senior class, Ashley Miguel from the junior class, Cassie Mundon representing the 10th graders, and Brittney Salvador coming forth from the freshman class.
